GOP CAMPAIGN TO ISSUE TRADING STAMPS

WASHINGTON (July 13)-- In a fund raising strategy some have called "silly," the Republican National Committee announced today that it will try to boost flagging campaign contributions by issuing trading stamps.

"I figure people are mad at us about the war in Iraq," said RNC chairman Robert M. Duncan, "so maybe they'd like a nice coffee maker or a toaster or a blender or, you know, something."

Duncan said that a clock radio was redeemable for 255 books of stamps, adding that "buying this stuff in a store would cost you an arm and a leg."
